Our story

Reviving the land to its glory years.

Hello everyone!! I’m Jessica, the owner of Sweet Southern Farms along with my husband, Travis, and our two boys, James and Jason. We are a small family farm in Edgemoor, SC, right outside of Rock Hill where we were both born and raised.

Our property has been in my family since the mid-40s. My family used the land to raise animals for meat and milk, in barns they built by hand, and grew huge gardens to feed the family — the excess canned for the winter months.

Our family moved onto the property in 2014 with huge goals in mind. We aim to revive the land and learn the skills our ancestors once used on a daily basis — and as we grow and learn, we hope to pass along tips and insights to those wanting to do the same.

Not just a minimum 2ft by 2ft area to roam — all our birds free-range on the property, supplemented with a soy-free feed from Reedy Fork Organic Farm in Elon, NC. Our hens are loved and truly happy on the farm.
